THE DESERTERS

 

He didn’t ask for it but for his sins a Cavalry officer Pete Shannon, his life spiraling out of control after the loss of his wife and child, facing the gallows for desertion, is given a “last chance” suicide mission.  In the unpredictable, dangerous border town of Presidio, Pete must overcome his own demons to capture a former deserter who runs the town, and everyone in it, with an iron fist.   Along the way, he must walk the delicate, often blurred line between right and wrong. The Deserters is a gripping, edgy, film-noir western.

NOT BETWEEN BROTHERS (mini-series)

 

An epic, sweeping saga of the collision between cultures (White, Tejano and Comanche) that occurred to form early Texas.  An all star cast with major hispanic roles will headline the production based on the Award Winning Novel of the same name by author David Marion Wilkinson.  Upstart Remy Fuqua, orphaned at a young age immigrates to an unknown place called Texas from his dirt-farm beginnings in rural Louisiana.  Marrying into a wealthy Tejano family, his life drastically changes course when his true love is kidnapped by a Comanche war chief, Kills White Bear, beginning a feud between families and cultures that spans four decades.   Developed with Kevin Costner and Tig Productions Executive Producing, Not Between Brothers will go into production in 2009.

THE MIDNIGHT HOUR

 

Set in the south, amid the turmoil and upheaval of America’s Civil Rights movement, The Midnight Hour is a story of family, of the bonds of brotherhood and, finally, the story of a dream.   Against the backdrop of the potent, and exciting musical world of Delta Blues, The Midnight Hour cuts across racial divides and explores the relationship between two young boys, one white, one black, and their emerging dream of playing music together in a “mixed band”.  They are not prepared for what the world of the 1960’s, in the South, has in store for them.  A powerful, emotional journey.

THE EMPTY QUARTER

 

Dead-ended in Texas, a young man, Logan Wilson, searching for meaning in his life, compulsively commits to a job in Saudi Arabia’s Rub al Khali desert, a blistering, unforgiving land known by its English translation as The Empty Quarter.  On a high-pressure gas well installation Logan comes face to face with who he is, and who he wants to be.   In a world not before seen on screen, tensions erupt between Logan and Jamie Strong his driller and former friend, between the Muslim crew and their Christian bosses, and finally between cultures when terrorists, bent on destroying the well, come to call.   Based on the novel by David Marion Wilkinson.

SUICIDE GRIP

 

Sonny Burke is a simple man, a fading rodeo star, happy to win a few remaining contests and pay off the last of his ranch payments.  That is, until he meets Lena.   Set in the exciting, dangerous world of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vega, Suicide Grip is romantic thrill ride.   A simple rodeo cowboy comes up against money, guns, and big business when he falls in love with the wrong girl.    Suddenly embroiled in a Federal racketeering investigation, a murder-for-hire plot, and a star-crossed love affair, all Sonny has to do is survive.
